Scope and priority
This policy applies to bookings for official hikerfit events and for member-hosted events and meetups listed on hikerfit.
- If a detail page shows its own refund rules, those rules apply first.
- Where relevant laws and standards, such as the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce and the Consumer Dispute Resolution Standards, are more favorable to the consumer than this policy, those laws take precedence.
- The host is the service provider for member-hosted meetups. hikerfit provides meetup information and card booking and payment features. Contact the host to request a refund.
Standard refund terms
If a detail page has no separate terms, the terms below apply. The cancellation time is counted from when your cancellation reaches the host.
Host cancellation and bad weather
- If an event is cancelled because of the host’s circumstances, a trail closure or safety reasons, the full amount paid is refunded.
- If the event goes ahead as planned but a participant does not attend because of the weather or personal reasons, the participant cancellation terms apply.
- If the service cannot be provided because of a natural disaster or similar cause, it is handled in accordance with relevant laws and the Consumer Dispute Resolution Standards.
Refunds by payment method
Card payment
The approved payment is cancelled to the original payment method. It usually takes 3 to 7 business days after the cancellation is approved for your card issuer to reflect it, and this may vary depending on the issuer.
Older transfer bookings
Transfer bookings are no longer offered. For a previous transfer booking, the host who received the funds handles the refund after checking the payment and booking details.
How to request a cancellation or refund
- Check your booking number and its current status on My Page.
- For official events, reply to the booking confirmation email; for member meetups, contact the host shown on the detail page.
- Including your name, booking number, payment method and reason for cancelling speeds up processing.
If a refund dispute is not resolved, you can seek help from the 1372 Consumer Counseling Center or Consumer 24 (in Korea).
