TRAIL JOURNAL

Real mountain stories
from those who walked first

We record the feel of the trail and prep tips that course numbers alone cannot tell you. You do not need to have joined a hikerfit event to write a story.

EDITOR'S NOTE

A good story remembers
the journey longer than the summit.

Weather, footing, rest spots and gear to pack again. Records that genuinely help the next hiker.

A few useful notes to help you prepare for your hike.

01

Before setting out

Early starts can be cold and windy. Check the weather and trail access hours, and pack a layer that blocks the wind.

02

On the trail

Watch your footing rather than rushing in the dark. Bring a headlamp and spare batteries, and take breaks at a comfortable pace.

03

Plan for the return

Leave time and energy for the descent, and keep some water and snacks for the way back.
